My lovely wife burned her hand

My wife nearly burned her hand on our broken refridgerator. It's broken and will be replaced. While disconnecting it she touched what I believe is the compressor. It was quite hot. There was a recall that started our fridge woes, the compressor was in danger of catching on fire. I have a funny feeling it still is.
